Hotel lighting mock-up guide
A mock-up exists to settle the questions a drawing cannot: how the light feels at the bedside, whether the dimming holds at 5%, and how the finish reads under the selected colour temperature.

What should be tested in a guestroom mock-up?
Test bedside glare from the lying position, the wardrobe and bathroom task light, the reading light beam on an actual page, the colour of the joinery under the chosen CCT, and the switching sequence a guest meets on entry.
What should be tested in a restaurant mock-up?
Test the light on the table surface and on faces, the contrast between table and circulation, the visible source from a seated position, and the dimmed appearance at service level.
How is dimming verified?
Dim to the lowest level in the specification and check for flicker, colour shift, audible noise and drop-out. Test with the actual driver and control gear, not a substitute.
What should be recorded from the mock-up?
Record the model codes, optics, CCT, driver, dimming protocol and the agreed levels, then keep that record with the schedule so site substitutions are visible.
